The Used is a band that originated from the Oren, Utah. Members are 4 people consisting of Bert McCracken, Quinn Allman, Jepha Howard, and Dan Whitesides. His first album was The Used released in 2002.

. Early history
John Vesely Secondhand Serenade formed in the town where he lived, Menlo Park in California, United States, in 2004. Vesely was raised in San Francisco Bay Area musical family and as the son of a professional jazz musician father, commented that "entry into the music is a natural thing" for him. He spent 8 years playing bass in local bands, featuring a number of actions started in style from ska and hardcore to rock and pop. [3] One of the bands that played in, Sound Like Life, including fellow Bay Area artist, Ronnie Day. After years of playing bass, he chose to acoustic guitar. Vesely follow Ondrasik's Five for Fighting. Vesely was also the son of a Czech immigrant. [4]
Vesely started writing his own songs when he met his wife Candice Vesely. She wanted him to play a song and "sing with a bass guitar that was out of the question." He has admitted he found "true calling" when he took the guitar. Pseudonym Secondhand Serenade is a reference to the manner in which the songs are 'serenades' sung his wife Candice, with whom he has two young children. People around the world only get to hear the song 'second hand'. [1] "While continuing to market Vesely biography of affection, the couple divorced in 2008. In 2005, Vesely released her debut album titled Awake. It is recorded as a demo, after booking a few days in Ontario before a studio in 2005, "by using only an acoustic guitar and multi-tracked vocals. [7]" The album was promoted through the Secondhand Serenade Myspace page and by playing in local performances . CD was originally sold through mail order with a PayPal account by Vesely, eventually he signed up with distributor TuneCore, making Secondhand Serenade songs available on music portals including iTunes. [8] The album experienced tremendous online support, and at the end of 2006 Secondhand Serenade has received millions of requests on Myspace and concerts have become the social-networking site's No.. 1 Independent Artist for months. Financially, he said memdapat to $ 20,000 a month from downloads and merchandise sales outside of his home. [7] He sold over 15.000 copies of the album on his own, [9] He sold over 15,000 copies of the album itself, and the strength of sales and support, naturally, the labels came calling. Secondhand Serenade signed a contract executive old label Daniel Glass, on the labels of his new Glassnote Records, distributed by Warner's Independent Label Group. [2] In 2006, Rolling Stone announced Secondhand Serenade as # 3 in the poll readers of the magazine for Artist Best Myspace. In early 2007, Awake by Glassnote Records reissued with two extra songs. It was released on January 31, and provide first chartings Vesely, debuting at # 16 on Billboard's Top Heatseekers chart. Add to the success cause it peaked at # 164 in the Billboard 200, # 3 on Top Heatseekers and # 19 on the Independent Album chart.
To support the release of his first label, Vesely was featured on MTV's You Hear It First, AOL Music's Breakers Yahoo! Music's Who's Next? [8] and appeared on talk show Late Night with Conan O'Brien. [7] He also played in many performances , including tours with the likes of Hawthorne Heights and The All-American Rejects and the music festival South By Southwest and along the sides of My Chemical Romance and Linkin Park at Bamboozle. Secondhand Serenade only released one song as a single from her debut album, "Vulnerable". This song gave birth to a music video, created by Frank Borin is responsible for the video Red Hot Chili Peppers' for the hit single "Dani California". [9] "Vulnerable" peaked at # 83 on the Billboard Hot 100, # 64 on Pop 100 and # 56 on Hot Digital Songs chart. [Edit] A Twist in My Story (2008-2009)
A Twist in My Story was released on February 19, 2008 and features songs from Awake such as "Maybe" and "Your Call" but the re-production with the band. Most of the album are new songs written by John Vesely and recorded with the band. Two tracks on A Twist in My Story is produced by renowned producer Butch Walker, while others produced by former Nine Inch Nails member Danny Lohner. The first single, "Fall for You," released January 21, 2008. The album was leaked, and made available for download one month before the official release. On January 28, 2008, the music video for the first single from the album "Fall for You" premiered on MTV TRL. To support the release, Secondhand Serenade spent most of March and April to tour with American band Making April, Automatic Loveletter, and The Affair White Tie. Members touring band including Steve Shebby on bass guitar, Lukas Vesely (brother Vesely) on key / vox, Ryan Cook (former bassist White Tie Affair) on lead guitar / vox, and Tom Breyfogle on drums.
Title A Twist in My Story is a reference to the 2008 Vesely divorce with former wife Candice, with anyone who makes it has two children. [5] [6] In November 2008, the album's first single "Fall for You", has been certified Platinum by the RIAA . [10] On December 5, 2008 "Fall For You" was # 13 and American Top 40 songs in the country. Video "Your Call" premiering on FNMTV on December 5. It can be seen on the website FNMTV. [11]
He released a video for the song "Maybe" on his Myspace page on May 4, 2009. This video tells about the concerts and travel around the world and in the record and directed by Preston Jones's tour manager and his drummer Tom Breyfogle. A Twist in My Story (Deluxe Edition) released on February 3, 2009. This album contains 5 bonus tracks including "Your Call" (Radio Version), "Fall for You" (Acoustic Version), "Like A Knife" (Acoustic Version), the single "Last Time", and the cover of Coldplay's "Fix You". [Edit] Hear Me Now (2010-present)
Secondhand Serenade third studio album entitled Hear Me Now, released on August 3, 2010. album track list has also been announced. [13] In a recent interview, Vesely said that the new record will be more eager than his last album, which focuses on the relationship. "Secondhand Serenade - singer / songwriter John Vesely - returns with his third album, Hear Me Now, out July 3rd on ILG / Glassnote Records. Eight of the eleven songs on the album were the resource produced by Aaron Johnson (The Fray) at Swing House studios in Los Angeles. The other three, Including the first single, "Something More", were the resource produced by John Vesely Secondhand Himself along with drummer Tom Breyfogle at Vesely's home studio and mixed by Mark Endert (Train, Maroon 5). "Something More" will of its debut at 7:40 PM on May 17th on Kid Kraddick's nationally syndicated radio show and will from be available at iTunes on June 1st. [13] "
On June 1, "Something More" was released to iTunes as a deluxe single with bonus track "You Are A Drug", a video shows the making of "Something More", and a digital booklet for the new single. On July 21, during a tour in Dallas, Vesely announced that a package of downloadable songs for Rock Band will be available soon, which featured several hits including Secondhand Serenade "Fall For You". On July 27, Vesely added eleven new tracks from his album, Myspace and making the song available for streaming for the fans. Many of these songs are also leaked to sites such as Youtube. Vesely plans to release an EP to follow the current tour featuring all new acoustic songs. On November 23, 2010, Vesely released online free to download demos of new songs from the new EP titled "Let Me In." The next single from the new album is a new version of "You & I" featuring Cady Groves
